Peter moved to Wellow with his wife Shirley in 2015 to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren who live in Bath and Taunton. After a career in the international oil and petrochemical industries, and several successful years in business consultancy, he elected to take early retirement in 2010 to focus on his charitable interests. In particular, he serves as Chairman of the Youth Hostel Association (YHA). He is a keen long distance walker, cyclist and avid sports fan.
