{"id":46,"date":"2016-03-30T20:17:36","date_gmt":"2016-03-30T20:17:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/recreation.wellow.org\/?page_id=46"},"modified":"2021-05-07T22:56:55","modified_gmt":"2021-05-07T22:56:55","slug":"boules","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/recreation.wellow.org\/index.php\/boules\/","title":{"rendered":"Boules"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover has-background-dim is-layout-flow wp-block-cover-is-layout-flow\" style=\"background-image:url(http:\/\/recreation.wellow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/snow.jpg)\"><p class=\"wp-block-cover-text\">A little piece of &#8216;La Belle France&#8217; in Wellow<br><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Our boules piste provides the ideal venue for an early summer evening&#8217;s relaxation and socialising alongside gentle exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regular weekly Boules Group &#8216;soire\u00e9&#8217; take place from 6.00pm each Wednesday and 2:30om on Sunday in the summer months.&nbsp; On Thursday at 7:00pm the piste is used for League matches.&nbsp;Outside of these times it is available for use whenever people want it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All villagers, beginners and experts, are welcome to come along to the &#8216;piste&#8217; and join in, or just to sit and watch the fun. There is no need for your own equipment; plenty of spare boules are available for newcomers.&nbsp;Refreshments are &#8216;de rigeur&#8217; so please bring&nbsp; your own to share with the winners and losers. Plastic glasses are recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following play, the Boules Group often go to The Fox &amp; Badger to discuss &#8216;all things boules&#8217;. Thanks to all who helped us raise \u00a3120 for the Children&#8217;s Play Park Appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In 2018 Wellow Boules entered a team into The City of Bath Petanque&nbsp;&nbsp;&#8211; Thursday League.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was their first move into the world of competitive play so they were excitedly nervous to announce this!<span style=\"display: inline !important; float: none; background-color: transparent; color: #141412; cursor: text; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro',Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They played in Division 4 and finished 5th &#8211; not too shabby for their first attempt!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In 2019 a new 5th Division was added to the&nbsp; Bath League &#8211;&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Wellow Boules played in Division 4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They achieved 1st position and will be promoted to Division 3 in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to all that turned-out to play for the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Get In Touch<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Fancy giving it a go?
