Wellow Netball is having a break over winter and will start again in the Spring 2018.
It was launched in September 2015, following the very impressive turn out of netballers for a demonstration game during the Sports Launch Day! Since then the group has grown and become more established with regular sessions being held on Tuesday evenings from 8 – 9 pm. The club have teamed up with England Netball and are now part of the Back to Netball scheme which is running across England and provides women of all ages with a gentle re-introduction to the sport.
Emily Harrison, the Avon & Wiltshire Netball Development Officer, provides the club with fantastic coached sessions on a fortnightly basis. Sessions cover the basics of the game including passing, footwork and shooting, and always finish with a friendly game to put the skills learnt into practice. With Emily’s encouragement, the club are aiming to compete in their first (friendly!) netball tournament later this year.
Wellow Netball is very keen to attract participants not only from the village, but from all surrounding areas. If you would like to come along and join for a taster session please contact: sian@willow.world
